Carl Froch closes in on Mikkel Kessler and Lucian Bute rematches

Posted: July 6, 2012 in Uncategorized

Carl Froch aims to line up an eagerly anticipated rematch with Mikkel Kessler in the next few weeks after announcing his next bout will be against an as-yet-unknown opponent in November.

He will then rematch against Candaian Lucian Bute in Montreal next March.

Froch, who became a three-time super-middleweight champion after stopping Bute in the fifth round for the IBF crown, has made no secret of his desire to take on Kessler again after the Dane inflicted the Cobra’s first professional loss in 2010.

A close unanimous points decision separated the two fighters in Herning, where Froch felt Kessler was awarded a hometown decision to win the Englishman’s WBC super-middleweight crown at the time.
