THREE-TIME world super-middleweight champion Carl Froch is preparing for a November fight in the city that brought him his most memorable night in the sport.

The IBF champion will defend the title he won when demolishing Romanian-Canadian Lucian Bute, again in Nottingham.

Gareth A Davies, of the Telegraph, is reporting that there are three potential opponents for Froch:  Denmark’s Mikkel Kessler, the American Kelly Pavlik or the IBF No 4 ranked super-middleweight Thomas Oosthuizen from South Africa.

The Danish fighter would represent arguably Froch’s most difficult test, having out-pointed him during the Super Six tournament. Pavlik is still re-building his career following a difficult period outside the ring, while Oosthuizen has recorded a 19-0-1 record since turning professional in 2008.

The bout will take place on either November 3 or November 10.

Froch’s re-match with Bute in Canada will happen next year.
