KELL Brook has responded to concerns over his conditioning by adding to his backroom team.

The Sheffield welterweight clung on for a narrow points verdict against American Carson Jones last month, struggling in the later rounds having dominated the first half of the contest.

Today’s Sheffield Star is reporting that Brook has enlisted the services of qualified nutritionist David Stache to take care of his diet, with Dave Hembrough specialising in sports science.

Brook will face the Argentinian Saldivia in a final eliminator for the IBF title at Sheffield Arena on October 20.

“I proved I have massive heart against Carson,” said Brook. “I said after the fight that there needs to be an improvement and on October 20 my fans are going to see me at my very best.”

Brook’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, said: “We have a new team in place that is going to ensure Kell will hit new heights in this fight. It was always our goal to secure a mandatory position and now we are just one fight away from making that happen.”

The winner of the eliminator will be the mandatory contender for the IBF title, which will be determined when champion Randall Bailey faces Devon Alexander in Texas on September 22.
