HEAVYWEIGHTS David Price and Audley Harrison will travel to Liverpool and London to promote their bout, which is being titled “Battle of the Olympians”.

Price, won won bronze in Beijing four years ago, and Harrison, a gold medalist at the 2000 Games in Sydney, will be in the former’s home city on Wednesday, August 8, before travelling south to the capital a day later.

The bout at Liverpool’s Echo Arena, in which the unbeaten Price will be defending his British and Commonwealth titles, will be screened on BoxNation, on October 13.

STEVE Goodwin insists a more competitive TV landscape is good for boxing – but revealed most promoters were “negative” towards his new deal with Primetime.

Goodwin’s first televised show is on September 15 at York Hall, a huge seven-hour event of which two-and-a-half hours will be televised.

Crucially for the Bedfordshire-based promoter, access to the action will be free for viewers whose current choices are occasional broadcastss on Channel 5 or more regular offerings on subscription channels Sky Sports and BoxNation.

PROMOTER Steve Goodwin has revealed Ali Adams was lined up for a £100,000 bout in the Middle East had he seen off Audley Harrison.

Iraqi-born Adams was knocked out in the fourth round of their May clash in Brentwood, and subsequently tested positive for a banned substance. He has since claimed that the substance may have been included in medication he was taking for a neck injury and that he would never knowingly take anything on the banned list.

UNBEATEN heavyweight prospect David Price will be the subject of a “major announcement” on Wednesday, his promoter Frank Maloney has announced.

Press have been invited to the Waldorf Hilton Hotel at noon to receive some “breaking news” about the Liverpool-based fighter, who most recently despatched Sam Sexton by knockout at Aintree in May.
